Hathaway seems to have adopted ushering in an era of pale chic as her raison d'etre.

Harmonious

Chic personified. Look at the way the increasingly-dappled white of the print weaves fair coloring into the look.

Attitude. The salmon color pops, the red lips nail it, but most of all, this dress works because of all its attitude. These are not "pale legs" of the frazzled sorority-house runt who forgot to make it to a tanning bed; rather, this is a very sexy woman, very clearly in command of her image and presentation. The modern, abstract, "intelligent" print on the dress complements a modern, intelligent, ahead-of-the-curve outlook on fair skin.

Stunning hibiscus knock-out --  it makes that pale skin look luminous. I think the pinkness of her cheeks and lips is what seals it. But...that expanses of delicate, sheer froth works magic, too. The variation and gradation of tone the mesh creates and the texture of the ruching enliven the way the rest of her white skin appears.

I liked the peachy hue with her coppery hair...though that peachy text in the background helps keep a little color in the shot, right? I'm not sure if this look would be as flattering for a gal who can't bank on coordinated background colors...

Pale and sexy. Boom.
